The way to work. The shopping after work. Visiting friends. Mobility is part of everyday life – but the costs for it are taking up more and more space in the household budget for many people.
We believe that a practical vehicle for everyday use must be affordable.
With this ambition, we worked together with our Chinese partners on the IO HAWK 2M. Many of the existing L7e offerings were too expensive for us. We wanted to offer a vehicle where the entry price and ongoing costs matched what people need and can afford in everyday life.
Energy costs per 100 kilometers: €4.54*
Traveling electrically and keeping costs in mind: In our example calculation, the 2M requires 4.54 € worth of electricity for 100 kilometers. This makes your daily trips financially manageable.
Existing technology. Our goal: affordable mobility.
We didn’t have to reinvent the wheel. Together with our partners, we build on an existing vehicle platform and develop our offering for the European market on top of it.
One thing was particularly important to us: it should also feel comfortable to use. With a closed interior, two seats, heating, air conditioning and Apple CarPlay. And with up to 80 km/h, so that your daily journeys can also extend beyond the city limits.
With the IO HAWK 2M, we offer one of the most affordable full-electric L7e vehicles in Europe – priced at €9,900 in the pre-order offer for the first 50 vehicles.

Your second car for your daily trips.
Whether for work, shopping or with friends: The 2M can take on many of the journeys of your current second car. As a vehicle of class L7e, it offers you more leeway in terms of speed than a L6e vehicle limited to 45 km/h. With up to 80 km/h, you can better adapt to the traffic flow on many everyday routes.
Your large car is perfect for the trips you need it for. For many daily journeys, the 2M is compact, electric and with manageable running costs.
Compact on the outside, surprisingly much room inside.
Open the door, get in, close the door. Even these first moments surprised our team: the feel of the doors closing, the fully designed cockpit, and an interior that appears more spacious than the compact exterior dimensions would suggest.
Many of our team reported the same thing after their first drive: The 2M feels like a completely normal car to them.
You are sitting in a closed interior, with the steering wheel, instruments and controls in front of you, and you quickly find your way around. Heating, air conditioning and the large display complement this familiar feeling.
And then you set off.
Our team was particularly impressed with the direct start of the electric drive. You press down on the accelerator – and you immediately feel how the 2M responds. Especially when accelerating, it provides a lively driving experience that many of us wouldn’t have expected from our small two-seater at first glance.
Compact on the outside. Surprisingly spacious on the inside. And a smile on the face right from the start of the drive.

Small exterior dimensions. Approx. 605 liters of luggage space.
Shopping bags, sports equipment or work tools: The luggage compartment, which has a volume of approximately 605 liters, offers plenty of space for your everyday life. It can be loaded conveniently through the rear door.
With a length of around 2.86 meters and a width of 1.50 meters, the 2M remains handy – when maneuvering and when searching for parking spaces.
Comfort that you use every day.
The air conditioning with heating and cooling function ensures pleasant temperatures. Adjustable seats, electric windows and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors make your journey comfortable.
The electric power steering helps you when parking. The rearview camera and rear-view sensors help you keep an eye on the area behind the vehicle.
Central locking with remote control and automatically switching on headlights complete the practical features.
Your smartphone is compatible.
On the 9-inch display with Apple CarPlay, you can use compatible apps and navigation. Bluetooth allows for phone calls and music playback; radio and USB connections complete the offering.
The digital cockpit clearly displays speed, battery level and other important driving information.
Charging up and off again.
The 2M can be charged using a suitable household outlet. You can use the stand time at home to recharge energy for your next journeys. The estimated charging time is approximately six to eight hours, depending on the charging status and charging conditions.
With its LiFePO₄ battery with 72 V and 150 Ah, the 2M achieves a range of up to 140 kilometers. Driving style, temperature, load, as well as heating and air conditioning all influence the actual range.
Whether on the way to work, when shopping or when traveling through the city – the 2M is designed to make personal mobility simple and enjoyable. The focus is on the usable interior space and the practical possibilities for transporting everyday items.
Charging at home is also part of this idea: the vehicle can be integrated into your daily routine and is ready for the next journey. Go home. Plug the adapter into the vehicle and your 2M is ready and fully charged when you start your next journey.
It can easily be charged using an ordinary household outlet. Alternatively, you can also charge your 2M using a Type-2 on-Choke charging adapter that is available as an optional accessory. This allows you to charge your 2M using compatible public AC charging stations with a Type-2 socket, ensuring you remain flexible on the go.
Use depends on the approval and terms of the charging station operator. Not suitable for DC fast charging stations.

Weight information for variant 03 / version 01: The vehicle weight with battery and included equipment, excluding the driver, is calculated to be 700 kg (775 kg actual mass minus 75 kg driver). A total of 320 kg is available for the driver, passenger and luggage up to the permissible total weight of 1,020 kg. With a driver weight of 75 kg, there remains 245 kg. What does electricity cost for your 2M?
For transparent orientation, we expect a current price of €0.35 per kWh and a battery with 72 V / 150 Ah. This corresponds to 10.8 kWh nominal energy. With an assumed charging surcharge of 20, 12.96 kWh % results from the outlet.

Assuming 100 km per charge, it’s 4.54 € per 100 km instead. These are calculated examples, not measured consumption values. Actual costs depend on your electricity tariff, usable battery capacity, charging losses, weather, and driving style.
Calculation: 10.8 kWh × 1.20 × €0.35/kWh = €4.536. For 140 km: €4.536 ÷ 140 × 100 = €3.24 per 100 km.

With an exemplary insurance budget of 200 € per year become calculable 16.67 € per month. This amount is solely used for cost planning and is not an approved 2M tariff or a general average price.
